Preventive and hygiene
Ready for a cleaning without the long wait?
A hygienist cleaning removes what brushing cannot, and gives you a clear picture of where your teeth and gums stand.

About this service
A routine cleaning, sometimes called a prophylaxis, removes plaque and hardened tartar from the surfaces of your teeth and just beneath the gumline, then polishes them. It is the single most useful appointment in dentistry, because it keeps the small things small.
Six days a week, plus Sunday mornings.
Cleanings at Sunny Smiles are done by our hygiene team and paired with a comprehensive exam when you are new to us, so nothing is missed. If your gums need more than a routine cleaning, we will explain the difference and what a deep cleaning involves before anything is scheduled.
Who it may be appropriate for
- Anyone who has not had a cleaning in the last six months
- New patients who want a full picture of their oral health
- People who have been putting it off for a while. That is common, and it changes nothing about how you will be treated
- Families who want to book several cleanings together
A guide, not a diagnosis. Only an exam can confirm what is right for you.
