About this service

We take bitewing images to check between the teeth, periapical images to see a whole tooth root, and panoramic images for a single view of the jaws, teeth and sinuses. Which ones you need depends on your history, and we only take what is useful.

Who it may be appropriate for

  • New patients and routine check ups, as part of the exam
  • Anyone with pain, swelling or a suspected infection that needs locating

A guide, not a diagnosis. Only an exam can confirm what is right for you.

What it gives you.

  • 01

    Done here

No separate imaging appointment somewhere else.

  • 02

    Better planning

3D imaging shows bone quality and anatomy that flat images cannot.

  • 03

    Only what is needed

Images are taken on a schedule that matches your history, not by default.

What to expect

The visit, start to finish.

  1. 01

    Positioning

For a CBCT scan you stand or sit still for a short rotation of the scanner around your head.

  2. 02

    Review

The dentist reviews the images with you on screen and explains what they show.

  3. 03

    Planning

Findings go straight into your treatment plan.

Questions

Frequently asked.

No. A dental cone beam scan is a smaller, faster scan focused on the jaws and teeth. Your dentist will explain when it is recommended over a standard x-ray.
