Oral surgery and periodontal care

When a tooth has to go, we make it straightforward.

Some teeth cannot be saved, and some wisdom teeth cause more trouble than they are worth.

About this service

An extraction is recommended when a tooth is too damaged or infected to restore, when wisdom teeth are impacted or repeatedly causing pain, or when a tooth needs to come out to make orthodontic treatment possible. We plan with x-rays and, for more complex teeth, a 3D scan.

Who it may be appropriate for

  • A tooth that is broken or decayed beyond repair
  • Wisdom teeth that are impacted, infected or crowding other teeth

A guide, not a diagnosis. Only an exam can confirm what is right for you.

What it gives you.

  • 01

    Done here

Routine, surgical and emergency extractions in the office you know.

  • 02

    Planned properly

X-rays or a 3D scan show the root shape and nearby structures before anything begins.

  • 03

    What comes next

Clear aftercare, and a conversation about implants or bridges if the space should be filled.

What to expect

The visit, start to finish.

  1. 01

    Assessment

Imaging and an exam confirm the tooth needs to come out and how.

  2. 02

    Numbing

The area is fully anaesthetised. You will feel pressure, not pain.

  3. 03

    Removal

The tooth is removed carefully. Stitches are placed if needed.

  4. 04

    Aftercare

Written instructions, and a call if anything concerns you.

Questions

Frequently asked.

Not always. If they are healthy, positioned well and cleanable, they can stay. If they are impacted, infected or damaging the teeth next to them, removal is usually recommended.
