Restorative dentistry
Small repairs, done properly.
A filling removes decay and restores the tooth so it is sealed against further damage.

About this service
When decay has created a cavity, or a small piece of a tooth has chipped, a filling restores the shape and seals the tooth. The area is numbed, the damaged part is removed and the tooth is built back up and shaped to your bite.
It is one of the most common things we do, and usually takes a single visit.
If a tooth has lost too much structure for a filling to hold, we will say so and talk you through a crown instead. You will never be sold one when the other is the right answer.
Who it may be appropriate for
- Anyone whose exam or x-rays show a cavity
- People with a chipped or worn tooth
- Patients replacing an old filling that has cracked or leaked
A guide, not a diagnosis. Only an exam can confirm what is right for you.
